Anthony Siscone Jr. was born March 25, 1950 in Collings Lakes and raised in the South Jersey town of Hammonton. Tony began racing go-karts at the age of 12 and, by the time he graduated from Hammonton High in 1967, he had won multiple state and regional titles. Tony competed against factory-backed teams in national go-kart events and had several strong finishes driving cars built by his father.

Tony moved up to stock cars at age 22 and began earning his spurs at Wall Stadium and other nearby tracks. He won 8 races as a rookie and, in the ensuing years, captured two track championships. Tony’s Modified career got off to a slow start, but in 1978 he got a quality ride with owner Frank Ransom and the two made a splash by winning the Modified main event at Wall Stadium on opening night. Unfortunately, Ransom passed away shortly thereafter.

Tony found a new partner in Dick Barney. He drove for Barney until 1992, winning 169 races and 12 more track championships—including a half-dozen at Wall and three at Atlantic City. One of Tony’s wins came at Martinsville in 1984, two years after a fiery crash that badly burned his hands.

During his career, Tony won 60 races at Wall Stadium, second all-time behind Gil Hearne. He also strung together 11 consecutive victories at Flemington Speedway.
